Features & Benefits
Highly Effective Removal of Acidic Fumes
  • Innovative design uses lateral mixing and turbulent flow to ensure clean emissions
  • No packing material in the column eliminates "channeling", which causes lower removal efficiency.
Years of Maintenance-Free Performance
  • No moving parts within the scrubber unit prolongs the useable life before maintenance or replacement.
  • Low water consumption per unit of containment removed results in smaller treatment or neutralization equipment and satisfies RCRA hazardous waste minimization criteria.
Quick and Easy Custom Installations
  • Small size and light weight permits installation above fume hoods, within false ceilings, or on roofs without significant structural reinforcement of hood or roof.
  • Inline installation allows labs with metal ductwork to avoid a costly renovation of their facility.
Industries and Applications

Demonstrated and potential uses for the Inline Wet Fume Scrubber include (but are not limited to):

  • Acid Digestion
  • Chemical Storage
  • Analytical Laboratories
  • Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing
  • General Plating Shops
  • Lime Slaking Equipment
Key Advantages
Innovative Design

Designed to contain no moving parts and utilize a suspended water column, turbulent flow, and high air flow velocity as the principal means of effecting the removal of water soluble contaminants as well as insoluble particulates.

  • Serpentine Mist Emulator - Removes the excess moisture from the air prior to passing through the blower assembly and exhaust ducting
  • Suspended Water Column - Maximizes the contact surface area and residence time between the air and water within the water column to provide the unit’s final removal of contaminants
  • High Airflow-Velocity - Air passes through a series of directional baffles where it is redirected, compressed, and accelerated, thus maximizing contact energy and increasing the removal rate of contaminants
  • Minimal Maintenance - Without moving parts, the scrubber unit enjoys a years of operational life before requiring maintenance or replacement

Testing Parameters
For each test, a known volume aliquot of reagent was evaporated on a hotplate and drawn through the fume hood into the Inline Fume Scrubber. The effluent from the Inline Fume Scrubber was then analyzed and the quantity of reagent removed by the Inline Fume Scrubber determined.

Excellent Performance

The VS Inline particulate removal efficiencies are comparable to medium and high efficiency electrostatic precipitation scrubbers.

Real Testing for Real Labs

The VS Inline has been tested by an independent laboratory and test results are based upon actual removal rates, not formulas or theory of removal as in other scrubber literature that you might read.

Proven Effective

Demonstrated removal efficiencies for the most common laboratory acid reagents ranged from:

  • 31% for acetic acid to over 95% for hydrofluoric acid based on a 0.1 micron particular diameter
  • 56% for 0.02 micron particulates
  • 99.9% for 2 micron particulates

Easy Installation

The combination of small size and light weight facilitates installation above fume hoods, inside false ceilings, or on roofs with minimal structural modifications.

  • Conserves valuable space - The VS Inline is perfect for mounting directly above or beside laboratory ventilation hoods and processing tanks
  • Steer clear of a total facility renovation - Using the VS Inline installation, laboratories can manage harsh acids without entirely replacing unsuitable ductwork
  • Customize to your needs - Find the perfect fit with more than ten size options and two metal-free material choices to address your lab’s specific scrubber requirements
  • Optional additions - TFI manufactures a complete line of plastic duct fittings, hoods, transitions and blower fans
